Win4AddOnPac Release Notes
September 25,2026 Version 1.120
Version 1.120 contains the following improvements and fixes for Win4Logbook.
New: Search Filters
Type COLUMN:value in the search box to filter by a field:
state:emptyfinds QSOs with no statelotw:not verifiedfinds QSOs not confirmed on LoTWcountry:united*matches anything starting with “united”- Conditions combine with AND and OR:
state:not empty AND lotw:not verified - You can Click the Search Help button for further info.
Improvements
- Paper QSL confirmations are now saved on import. Earlier versions did not save the
QSL_RCVDandQSL_SENTfields from ADIF files, so those confirmations were lost. See “Recovering missing QSL status” below. - Band names are stored consistently, so “20M” and “20m” are treated as the same band and award counts by band are correct.
- ADIF “V” (verified) values are accepted as confirmations for LoTW, paper QSLs, and eQSL.
- Column widths and order in the main log are remembered. They survive paging, searching, reimporting, and restarting. Previously they were lost on each page and could end up scrambled.
- A failed ADIF import no longer leaves the database in a partial state. Search triggers and safety settings are restored even when an import fails.
- Changing the database now restarts the app so the new log opens cleanly. Unsaved changes are still offered for saving first, and cancelling leaves the original database in place.
- Faster imports. The DXCC country table is built once rather than for every QSO.
- User defined field import in ADIF. ADIF files that have user defined fields are now imported into your database as long as they adhere to the ADIF standard. You can assign new column names in Tools, Settings.
Recovering missing QSL status
In Tools, ADIF / eQSL / LoTW / ClubLog there is a new option to Update Missing QSL and LoTW Status. This allows re-importing your existing ADIF files without adding records.
- Updates the LoTW, QSL, and eQSL status of QSOs already in your log, without adding any QSOs. This is useful since many databases have different ways of recording statuses.
- A status is only ever improved, never downgraded. Comments, grids, user fields, and your edits are untouched.
- Reports how many QSOs were updated, already current, or not found.
- Use it to recover QSL status from files imported with earlier versions, and for LoTW downloads.
September 22,2026 Version 1.08
Version 1.08 contains the following fixes for Win4Logbook.
Fixes
- Trying to delete a newly obtained WSJT record resulted in a DBNull message. Closing the database and reopening allowed the deletion. This has been fixed.
- Paper QSL confirmations are now saved on import. Earlier versions did not save the
QSL_RCVDandQSL_SENTfields from ADIF files. See “Recovering missing QSL status” below. - Band names are stored consistently. Bands such as “20M” and “20m” are treated as the same band, so award counts by band are correct regardless of how the ADIF file wrote them.
- ADIF “V” (verified) values are now accepted as confirmations for both LoTW and paper QSLs.
Awards Tracker
- Much faster: the Awards Tracker opens in seconds, even on very large logs, and switching between awards is instant. Use Refresh after importing or updating to reload the counts. Previous version would take about 1 minute to open the awards tracker on a database of 2,000,000 records. It now opens in 3 seconds.
- VUCC counts 4-character grid squares, and rover grid lines count for each grid. Targets: 6m and 2m 100, 70cm 50, 23cm 25.
- FFMA counts the 488 grids of the 48 contiguous states on 6 meters, including border grids worked with Canadian and Mexican stations.
New: Update Missing QSL and LoTW Status
- Recovering Missing QSL Status
If you imported ADIF files with an earlier version, use Update Missing QSL and LOTW Status with the same files.
Do not use ADIF Import for this. ADIF Import always adds QSOs, so importing a file again creates duplicate QSOs. The same applies to LoTW downloads: use Update Missing QSL and LOTW Status for them.
Notes
- Some award numbers may change after this update. That’s expected, because of the counting corrections above.
- The first time Update QSL Status from ADIF… runs on a large log, it creates a search index, which can take a little while. After that, it’s fast.
